I love fall, it’s my favorite time of year. No bugs, no mugginess and yet, still plenty to do in the Annapolis Valley

So here, in no particular order are my favorite 25 harvest-y things to do next month

  1. Sept/Oct. Pick Apples
  2. Jump on  a hay ride at Willowbank U Pick, 110 Starr’s Point Loop, Port Williams ( available during apple picking season- mid Oct.)
  3. Bike the Harvest Moon Trail which runs from Grand Pre to Annapolis Royal

  5.  Visit a Farmer’s Market to choose your own fresh veggies

  7. Pick Your Own Pumpkins Dempsey’s Corner Farm-they have other great things to do to, such as feed baby calves

  12. Take a paddle along Mersey River or Keji Lake. Whynot Outfitters at Kejimkujik National Park and Historic Site are open until Oct 21 for canoe & kayak rentals if you don’t have your own.

  14. Oct 13 Ride the Rails on a miniature train. Trecothic Creek & Windsor Railway is located on Centennial Drive, Windsor
  15. Oct 14 Peruse the goods at Horton High School’s Annual Harvest Craft Fair, 9 am-3 pm, 75 Greenwich Road S
